Case study 2

The aviation is the most regulated industry in relation to protecting the environment, workers, consumers, safety…; we’ve approached a company starting a Commercial aircraft storage facility, with a business operation located in the desert of North Africa. This company is hiring a local national celebrity, to manage their social responsibility activities. Amongst their activities they will integrate the CHBO Certification in their business plan to execute it as follow:
- Consumer Health: When an aircraft flies passengers, they carry all types of people; in many situations, passengers may carry illness on commercial flights, from one destination to another: like flu, coughing, fevers…etc. Knowing this issue, the company will implement a mandatory 360degrees cleaning and disinfecting the passengers’ interior/cockpit of the aircraft (usually can be optional in storage phase).
- Employee/worker Health: The decision to have air conditioning jackets for aircraft mechanics working during hot summer days. Most of the work is done outdoor on parking ramps. It is not mandatory to purchase these jackets, but it is a healthy choice to make mechanics work comfortably and perform better with health and well-being in mind.
- Community Health:The city where the business is located, is known globally by palm tree dates production (population with the Culture of eating high glucose food), although eating dates does not spike blood sugar, it is just a culture of “sweet eating”. The company will be offering the community pre-diabetes testing type 1, 2 & gestational diabetes to lower and prevent high glucose level.
- Environmental Health: The company had an effective press conference to answer concerns from the community that (parked) airplanes do contain uranium and aluminum... We invited local media, civil societies and explained everything to the community. They also assured the community that their state of the art building inside the airport is to be built to the highest standard of the environment and they also took a decision to power electricity through solar initiative; as a healthy environment is a prerequisite for the company.

Note: The case study will become a showcase (mentioning names & references), upon the company's approval.
